Frye boots represent a piece of American culture. It is the oldest continually operated shoe company in the United States, as soldiers wore the boots during the Civil War. In fact, the company supplied boots to US troops through World War II. Even General Patton wore Fryes.

It was such a sensation the Smithsonian has a pair of Frye’s on display as a pop culture item representing the period. Today the Harness Boot is the most coveted style.
