The Fall Re-Boot
Join me in a reboot of my fall shoe wardobe with the season's top picks.
The first word that comes to mind when I see these L'idea boots is...obsession. We all need that classic heeled bootie, and this one is really special. I can't get enough of the strong square toe and the extended heel detail. As I begin to grow bored of the black boot collection building in my closet, these add a huge shot of excitement. And like I always say, they're a great way to polish of a look for anything from work to play. I like these styled with a dress and tights for a sexy but sophisticated vibe. Plus, they give me some extra height.
Sam Edelman’s Kinzey in this grey leopard print is the definition of a reboot. Classic in its design but the volume is turned up with a chic kitten heel and all over calf hair finish, it’s just the update we need on a go-to dress bootie. These guys are made for those of us with some sass. Casual enough for jeans, professional enough for the office, sensual enough for an evening out, the ultimate, ageless go-to for fashion and function when you want to look and feel fab.
These boots are made for.... kicking butt. In terms of style, that is. Lacing up these combat boots gives me instant confidence. They're easy to run around in but still statement-making and perfect for jeans, leggings - whatever you please. The yummy, buttery leather of these makes every step worth while...and although I love my summer days, this is the kind of shoe that makes Chicago winters worth it.
The gem (stone) of the season, I still cannot get over these emerald Italian-made combat-inspired boots. I'm obsessed with the edgy contrast of lug sole against the rich suede of the upper to complement a variety of ensembles. With distressed denim or a cozy sweater dress, I have no reason to fear the cold weather with these on my feet. I'm calling this look punk rock chic and loving every minute of it, especially because there's nothing else like 'em in my closet.
The reboot wouldn’t be complete without the Piera bootie. All the way from Italy, this pair puts a discrete yet fashionable twist on the classic Chelsea with detail at the ankle. If you’re like me and want to snuggle up in an oversized sweater and jeans in the colder months, you’ve met your match with this pair from Lamica. Also available in black, but I love the caramel color of the leather with black accents so I don’t need to worry about coordinating colors. What’s better than that?
These studded L'idea by Lori boots are among my favorite this season because they allow me to release my inner wild chid; a little moto, a little western, a little rock and roll. Fabricated in Italy exclusively for Lori's, these boots are definitely statement-making but still versatile in style and color. For fall, I look forward to pulling them on with skinny jeans and a crisp white oxford for a look I can wear to work and then out for dinner with friends or my husband. To me, the ideal boot feels current but classic at the same time.
